How to Collaborate Effortlessly in a Virtual Office Setup?

Virtual Office space Bangalore

With remote work becoming a necessity due to the pandemic situation, several firms are now shifting to more flexible, hybrid working models. In fact, over the past few months, some businesses opted for virtual offices after facing an unprecedented situation, prioritizing their team members’ health and safety.

Even for new startups and solopreneurs virtual offices are great options to register and set-up the business.

Virtual office service providers too have stepped up the game, offering a plethora of facilities for the members. If you are still new to the terminology and need more insights on the ‘why’s and the ‘how’s, read the post to get a better perspective.

Let’s begin with understanding the concept of a virtual office setup.

What is a virtual office?

Virtual offices are essentially services that include a wide range of business functions, which are accessible online and sometimes, even offline. It comes with a business address at varied, prime locations, without the need to pay hefty, long-term rent for a physical office space.

More often than not, virtual offices encompass the following set of facilities:

  • A Prestigious Business Address –Virtual office services provide a registered office address for all legalities and the address proof of the business. The owners of any business will receive an address with a reputable area code, which assures the clients that the business is legitimate.
  • Mail Handling – While businesses may continue to operate from home, the mails are directed to a physical location. Virtual office operators also offer mail handling services, receiving and forwarding important mails on behalf of their clients.
  • Call Handling – Virtual office providers also offer call handling services, including managing incoming calls at a ‘professional’ business number.
  • Board Rooms – Meetings are inevitable for businesses. And for that occasional face-to-face meeting, business owners may need a space where they can host their clients and business colleagues. Virtual office packages provide access to high-tech, well-equipped board rooms, and meeting rooms meeting rooms.
  • Receptionist –Virtual office services include a receptionist to help arrange effective meetings at prestigious locations.
  • Financially Viable –A virtual office solution saves on overheads, as there is no need to rent physical space, buy equipment and furniture, or hire a receptionist. For budget-conscious entrepreneurs, this is one of the best arrangements.

That said, how can you make the most out of your virtual office setup? Since collaboration is the key, here are some tips that come to the rescue.

What are the best ways to collaborate in a virtual office setup?

Switch to the Cloud and increase productivity– Cloud technology leads the show in any virtual office environment, offering increased productivity. Sample this; all your data will be on the Cloud and can be accessed by your team members for easier feedback, a streamlined workflow, and enhanced security. Moreover, dozens of cloud services offer a multitude of benefits for businesses, including better collaboration amongst remote teams. Here’s a Forbes post that talks about why Cloud is the backbone of remote work.

Boost your business – When you have a significant business address associated with your brand, you can always use it on websites and as a part of your email signature or across marketing collaterals. This plays a crucial role in offering your business credibility, enhances the brand image and creates a great impression on clients.

Appear more professional during virtual meetings – When you are hosting virtual meetings with clients located all over the globe, putting your best foot forward is a compulsion. No, we are not being cryptic here; but merely suggesting ways to gain the trust of your business associates and clientele by looking a bit more ‘pro.’

For instance, CorporatEdge virtual office services include a set of exclusive virtual backgrounds for online meetings that showcase the office or lounge spaces, meeting areas and other high-resolution spaces in the building. As opposed to the regular virtual backgrounds available on various video conferencing software, these backdrops highlight the fact that you are actually operating fromthe premium business addresses that you signed up for. Trust us, it does make a huge difference!

Conduct effective face-to-face meetings – Sometimes, online meetings and calls may not be sufficient to meet your business purpose. You may need to host meetings for strategic or creative discussions, set goals or brainstorm with your team or clients.

Instead of meeting at a random (and often noisy) café, book a personal meeting room at a preferred rate anywhere across CorporatEdge virtual office facilities.

Our virtual office package provides access to state-of-the-art meeting spaces and lounges for business meetings, interviews, and conferences. In the wake of the recent situation, we have stringent hygiene and safety protocols in place.

All you need to do is set the agenda in advance, send out the invites, and conduct the meetings in our fully furnished board rooms that include Wi-Fi and superior audio/video facilities. You can also get receptionist and pantry services, which will give your business the edge.

Conclusion

These are some of the ways you can collaborate effectively with your stakeholders and team members, even in a virtual office setup. Use the tips for conducting successful business from anywhere in the country.

Flexible Office Spaces

Flexible Office Spaces are the Future of Working in the New Normal. Here is Why.

Flexible Office Spaces are the Future of Working in the New Normal. Here is Why

Flexible Office Spaces

Workplaces are not the same anymore. We wouldn’t say it has become more complex butthen, thepatterns have changed in the New Normal. Mobile, collaborative, remote work are familiar terms, and the always-on culture is here to stay.

Perhaps, this is why the flexible workspace supply growth is predicted to be over 21% in 2021, with a greater variation of end product than ever before as agile operators seek out new niche options in the market.Supporting this is another study, which estimates that up to 30% of the global workforce will be working from home multiple days a week by the end of 2021.

Additionally, a Mercer research illustrates that over 70% of companies will examine remote and/or flexible working as a workforce priority in the next three to six months (2020, Mercer COVID-19 survey live results).

That brings us to the question:

What are flexible workspaces?

Flexible offices offer a wide range of choices regarding location, lease terms, size, and value-added services. These include –serviced offices, coworking spaces, and virtual offices.

So, what are the reasons behind this irrevocable shift to flexible office spaces? Let’s explore theanswers:

  • Flexible Options – When it comes to traditional office spaces, leases can often run up to five years and more. Serviced offices operators provide flexible leasing solutions/arrangements to support businesses that are returning to work. Some of them offer day passes for members and non-members, while others provide top-of-the-range services. In essence, the companies get tremendous flexibility to either downsize or upsizeby paying only for the space or service they use as opposed to long-term rentals.
  • Business Continuity – In the New Normal, companies focus on business continuity above everything else. They implement various ways to ensure that their workforce has the flexible option to work from anywhere. Flexible workspaces offer multiple amenities including highly secure work environment with 24/7 access and high-speed internet with Wi-Fi, which are crucial factors for business continuity.
  • Going Rent-Free – This one is a no-brainer. Having a flexible working model means working from office or home based on one’s convenience. This removes the compulsion to pay upfront rental costs, which is often on the higher side when choosing a conventional office space at premium locations in CBDs, especially in metro cities like New Delhi and Bangalore.
  • Cost Reduction – Apart from going rent-free, a flexible office model also offers many other cost reduction options. For instance, it helps reduce the overheads for businesses with amenities, lounges, break-out rooms, printing facilities, meeting rooms, reception desks, telephone booths, concierge services, and more. And that’s not all. Several serviced offices offer free parking spaces, which is unimaginable at most of the premium business locations.
  • Ready-to-Move –Flexi-workspace solution providers help businesses cut down move-in time by taking care of everything right from the administration, maintenance, furniture, and so on. The best part is that the contracts are signed on the go, and it is possible to shift to the new workspaces on the day of signing the contract.
  • Prestigious Locations –Businesses seeking flexible working modelbenefit from premium address at prestigious locations, which arecloser to theirresidences or their client headquarters. They can set up the company/team anywhere, anytime without overhead expenses. This is an excellent option for small businesses or startups with remote teams that are ready to get back to work.

Managed Office in Gurgaon

Safety and Productivity Tips in the New Normal

Safety and Productivity Tips in the New Normal

Managed Office in Gurgaon

Companies are building their Covid-19 responses and transforming their ways to work in the New Normal. They are building resilience and going above and beyond to maintain safety at their workplaces.

While some of the firms are going completely remote, others are settling for flexible work arrangements for their staff members. Regardless of the option, they choose employee safety and productivity continue to remain the two primary concerns. This especially resonates with firms on the lookout for managed office spaces in New Delhi, Gurgaon, or Bangalore.

Here is a compilation of tips that are handy before making the switch:

Employee Safety Tips

  1. Revisit the Office Capacity Policy –Post the pandemic, many companies are settling for a phased approach, where only a limited number of staff returning to the workplace while the remaining team(s) continue to work from their homes. With reduced footprints in the office space, it becomes easier to maintain social distancing and follow various safety protocols to comply with the regulations.
  2. Social Distancing at Workspace – Maintaining distance between people is one of the critical approaches to control the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. The ideal way to go about this is to opt for spacious workspaces with fewer footfalls with the implementation of various social distancing policies such as –
    • Reducing the number of on-site meetings and opt for more virtual meetings.
    • Rearranging worksites to allow more distance between employees with at least six feet apart desks.
    • Setting up the office space with the latest tech for better remote collaboration between the teams.
    • Staggered work schedules can limit the number of employees occupying the workspace at a time.
    • Sanitizing and cleaning of the spaces carried out between the shifts.
    • Installing plexi glass or dividers to maintain distance between the staff.

Private working spaces in premium buildings meet all of these requirements and more. Companies only need to settle for ready-to-move-in office spaces without any maintenance hassle.

  1. Upgrade HVAC Systems –Office spaces with good ventilation can prohibit the transmission of the virus. You can either install high-efficiency air filters or better HVAC systems in your workplace. Alternatively, you can look for a space that already has an upgraded ventilation system to filter out contaminants and improve the airflow.
  2. Get Keyless Access – Keyless entry to the office premises is another way to ensure safety at the workplace. Think automatic door openers to enter and exit the workspace without touching a doorknob or door handle. Some managed office spaces have already implemented contactless, 24/7 entries for the members to reduce the risk of transmission.
  3. Keep Ergonomics in Check –Employees across various organizations are exposed to numerous health risk factors due to wrong body postures for prolonged periods in office spaces and homes. This health hazard can be alleviated with ergonomic workplace design. From placing monitors at eye level to keeping keyboards at the right height, everything matters. This is taken care of at serviced office spaces, which include ergonomic furniture by default.

Employee Productivity Tips

  1. Adopt a Flexi-Working Model –Employees are used to working from their homes and other setups outside of the office in the post-pandemic era. This work-from-anywhere model gives them the flexibility to commute to places nearby their homes and reduces the chances of fatigue and burnout. The reduction in commute times also increases their productivity manifold. And meeting up with their team members once in a while helps them eliminate the challenges that surface due to remote work.
  2. Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration –Collaboration and communication play vital roles in ensuring productivity for employees. According to a report, 74% of employees felt disconnected at work. With remote working and flexible workspaces being the New Norma, it can become a significant challenge and hinder productivity. This takes us to the following pointers.
  3. Invest in the Best Tools and Technologies – Several tools and technologies facilitate better collaboration and communication between employees. Slack, Zoom, Asana, Trello, Jira are examples of software that enable effective collaboration between your teams and ensure better project management. Apart from this, you will also require the best audio/visual tech, high-end speakers, speedy Wi-Fi connectivity, and secure cloud services to ensure uninterrupted work.
  4. Reduce Unimportant Meetings – When you conduct impromptu meetings without a clear agenda or purpose, you end up wasting several productive hours of your employees. To make meetings effective, always define the agenda and invite only the required team members. Wrap up the discussion to decide and assign action items for every member who attended the meeting.

These are some of the ways to ensure a safe and productive workspace in the New Normal. We at CorporatEdge understand the importance of providing complete safety and productivity at work and ensure full compliance with Covid-19 protocols mandated by the government, including frequent sanitization and support for making workspaces secure and hygienic. How Safe is Your Data at Work?

How Safe is Your Data at Work?

Business Centre in India

It is a given that organizations protect their sensitive information with the latest security protocols in place. But then, not all data breaches happen outside of the organization. With most of the workforce working from their homes or working-from-anywhere, insider data breaches have spiked due to flexibility in the tools used to share information.

To put things into perspective, some of the prominent insider threat cases of 2020 include:

Amazon – Insider Trading

A former manager working in Amazon’s tax department and two of her family members were charged with making insider trades. The senior manager disclosed Amazon’s confidential financial data, earning $1.4 million from the insider dealings.

Shopify Data Breach

E-Commerce giant Shopify’s employees obtained the records of customer transactions for about 200 merchants. This data included the company’s customers’ personal identifiable information. This incident caused a dent in Shopify’s stock price, dropping it by 1.27%.

The Twitter Hack

Twitter faced a chain social engineering attack on Twitter employees. Their credentials were stolen by the hackers, who gained access to the administrator tool of the microblogging platform. They proceeded to post scam messages on as many as 130 popular profiles andreceived $180,000 from Twitter users before the company’s cybersecurity team eventually sealed the breach.

These are among several insider threats that have caused damage to organizations in 2020.

In 2021, the scenario remains the same with people working out of offices on different devices, including their personal devices. A survey by Shred-It found that 86 percent of C-suite executives feel that the risk for data breaches significantly increases with remote work.

There’s a lack of data protection laws, specialized privacy laws, or dedicated laws on cybersecurity in India. These loopholes make the country a breeding ground for hackers, and insider threats, especially with employees working out of their homes.

Does that mean your data will continue to be compromised? How can you keep your data safe even with a globally dispersed team? Here are some pointers that you can implement:

  • Evaluate the VPN – Having a VPN and requiring employees to sign in using it to access company data does not necessarily guarantee data safety. Corporate VPNs are liable to security vulnerabilities that need time to get patched. This is precisely the loophole hackers seek. The solution is to update and fix the systems beforehand, to have robust security for the VPNs.
  • Update Work Policies – Remote work is a different ball game altogether, and your original work policies will not be valid when the employees work from their homes or outside of the workspaces. Update and communicate the best cybersecurity practices to help replicate the in-office experience. This will help prevent accidental data breaches, fraud, and other threats to sensitive information.
  • Conduct Employee Training – More often than not, it is not enough to communicate the policies to your employees. Conductingregular and effective cybersecurity training prevents all sorts of phishing scams and data breaches and offers data security assurance. These safety guidelines and protocols will help keep the data safe while your employees work from home.
  • Ensure Network Security –One of the ways to ensure network security with a majority of your employees working from their homes is by asking them to install a firewall. A properly configured firewall thwarts malicious software from breaching the home network and acts as the first line of defense against external threats.Additionally, several wireless routers nowadays include access controls and web-filtering, which offer further protection.
  • Assess Risks of Shared Networks – With companies adopting hybrid workplace models, there is also the risk of accessing data over shared networks. Since you don’t directly control the network, there is always the drawback that you will not be able to update the devices or the applications that oversee the network. To reduce this risk, you need to figure out how to secure Wi-Fi access is in a managed workspace. Alternatively, you can ask their IT department whether you can have your segregated network, which is always the better option.

As the country continues to fight the uncertainties associated with the Covid-19 pandemic with the rise in telecommuting and work-from-anywhere facilities, companies need to secure their data from insider threats and malicious attacks. With the proper steps to keep business data and intellectual property safe, businesses can continue to explore flexible working modes for their employees.

Top 5 Advantages of Choosing a Serviced office in Delhi and Gurgaon

Top 5 Advantages of Choosing a Serviced Office in Delhi and Gurgaon

Office space for rent in Gurgaon

In the New Normal, offices are starting to re-open, although not in full capacities. Corporates seek different ways to run their business without some of the employees working from their homes and the rest commuting to offices.

A serviced office is an excellent arrangement over renting a conventional office space in this regard. They are fully equipped workspaces, usually located in the best business hubs of cities. Run by operators, these are rented out to corporates, and even individuals, who want to access private office spaces by paying for the amenities.

Nowadays, several serviced offices offer flexible, hybrid working models, allowing companies and individuals to rent office spaces on a daily or monthly basis. In cities such as Gurgaon and Delhi, which are home to many up-and-coming startups and solopreneurs, how beneficial will these workspaces prove to be? Let us look at the following pointers to get a bird’s
eye view:

     1. No Long-Term Lease – More often than not, organizations need to pay for a minimum of a one-year lease for renting office spaces. Sometimes, this can also extend up to 10 years. Serviced offices, usually have a monthly or a daily arrangement and offer maximum flexibility. Companies can scale at short notice without long-term commitment by opting for pay-as-you-services in these
workspaces.

     2. Work-From-Anywhere – Working-from-anywhere is the
order of the dayin a post-pandemic world. Professionals and corporates are
looking forward to hiring office spaces near their homes or located at, say,
central business districts. This arrangement is great for interacting with
clientslocated in different areas of the city. Also, it lets them try out other
locations and see how it goes. It is an excellent option for those who want to
work from their homes and collaborate face-to-face with their team members. All
they need to do is select a serviced office in Gurgaon or Delhi near their
home, get a day pass or a monthly pass, and start working on the go. Simple!

3.Reduced Overhead – Setting up a traditional office is often costly, as there is a need to purchase equipment such as printers, fax, desks, chairs and install air conditioning units. A serviced office offers a private working space with high-end digital equipment, seating spaces, board rooms, cafeteria, reception desks, security, high-speed Wi-Fi, and several other facilities. They often come with a wide range of resources and the latest office technology, all of which are impeccably maintained. This plays an essential role in enhancing productivity and decreasing the downtimes for employees. Even the administration is taken care of in these workspaces. There’s no need to pay additional maintenance either, as the operators will take care of the same, including sanitizing the office space, which is a prerequisite safety protocol these days.

     4. Prime Location –Due to the low overhead costs associated with serviced working spaces, different businesses can share spaces in the same office area, which are also at the prime locations in the city. This would not be possible without paying a hefty feefor a traditional office setup. CorporatEdge, India’s leading premium serviced office operatorhas a range of serviced/ managed office spaces in Gurgaon and Delhi that serve as perfect locations for holding special meetings or conferences. Being in the heart of the city or well-known areas, these sprawling offices with advanced technology, ultra-modern facilities are the top choice of people who want to set up virtual workspaces.

     5. Perfect for Hybrid Workplace Model –Adopting a hybrid workplace model is seamless with serviced offices. The workspaces are ready for business, and corporates need to move in without a second thought and get everything taken care of. With several organizations returning to work in the New Normal in a limited capacity, this is the best approach to ensure that the staff can work at a safe and secure facility with all the amenities present. Moreover, sometimes the offices can also act as virtual locations for businesses, with mail and concierge services for the guests. This is an excellent option for the non-residents, who want to book workspaces for a couple of hours, or days.

To Conclude

Opting for a serviced workspace ensures less stress and offers a professional work set up with state-of-the-art equipment and resources. There are no hidden costs, and any corporate or individual can book a workspace at a posh location within their budget. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

A Year On – Recounting the Challenges of Working Remotely

2020 was an unprecedented year in the history of telecommuting. According to Gartner, 88% of organizations have encouraged or required employees to work from home due to Coronavirus.

We would like to believe that if popular sitcom Friends had an episode dedicated to this phenomenon, it would be something along the lines of – “The One Where Everyone Workedfrom Home.”

Work from home paints a rosy picture, especially on stock photos and social media.

Think of an immaculate desk, a peaceful green corner overlooking the vast expanse, all tasks neatly lined up on sticky notes, and having a cup of cappuccino. Working in this setup is dream-like.

Truth be told, working from the home’s confines during lockdown (at least in the initial days for some) was more complicated than usual for most.

Several professionals who were already living alone went into more profound isolation. The ones with young children had to juggle between taking care of their schedules and managing work. The absence of daycare and school coupled with mandatory self-isolation mode only made matters worse.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. There were several challenges as a result of remote working, which surfaced in 2020. In no particular order, these are:

Fear of Missing Out

In 2020, the search interest related to “team-building” on Google was over 9%, depicting people’s struggle to adjust to the New Normal. This comes as no surprise. When people sign up to work with a company, they often seek a great work culture. This includes working with team membersor, say, regular team outings and water-cooler moments. Employees who were not used to working in isolation started experiencing the fear of missing out. They couldn’t turn to their colleagues for support when they felt stressed out or overwhelmed.

The lack of face-to-face communication left them dissatisfied and led to declining psychological well-being. According to Buffer, 19% of remote employees reported loneliness as their biggest challenge. Increased workloads and burnouts from back-to-back virtual meetings further added to their woes.

Motivation Took a Hit

Remote working is an excellent alternative for self-motivated individuals. But for others, the arrangement proved to be counterproductive, mainly because they missed theoffice buzz. Keeping this in mind, web apps such as Sound of Colleagues sprang into action, offering ambient office noise that helped push productivity for those who missed their office’s daily humdrum.

That aside, situations such as the lack of rewards and incentives, micromanagement, and missing team spirit, led to a massive dip in motivation for remote workers in 2020.

Distractions Galore

Compared with the standard office cubicle, a home office has many distractions. The chaos in their surroundings makes it difficult for employees to focus on their tasks.A survey by Glassdoor revealed that about 32% of employees say watching TV is a top distraction when working remotely, followed by 27% who say child care is a huge distraction.

The bell rings in the middle of an important call. The neighboring dog barks during ongoing Zoom meetings. The background noises were commonplace andamplified by the lack of soundproof workspaces.

Fragmented Communication

Communication is a significant obstacle when employees work from their homes. There may be a dime a dozen tools and technologies that facilitate communication. Still, 20% of remote workers identified communication as an obstacle. Moreover, about 50% of new remote workers reported technology issues and virtual meeting glitches, which added to their frustration. For them, a centralized workspace was more convenient for facilitating simple communication.

No Work-Life Balance

Lack of work-life balance was another challenge for remote workers. Even with a great deal of planning and discipline, things didn’t go as per their schedule.

With massive workloads to take care of, some of them started taking frequent breaks to manage their personal tasks and then get back to work. That itself stretched the working hours till late, leading to severe burnouts. For example, many workplaces introduced ‘Lunch and Learn,’ which were programs and training events scheduled during the employees’ lunch break.

Simply put, there was no line between personal and professional spaces anymore.

Ergonomic Woes

Lack of a proper workspace added to health issues for telecommuters. A post on ILO states that – Human Factors/Ergonomics (HF/E) is an essential element in the management of work during crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the pressing question is – how many remote workers had access to ergonomic furniture at their homes? They were either using bean bags, couch or bed and working for extended periods with no one watching. This, coupled with long stretches of inactivity, led to increased health risks.

Heightened Expenses

While working from home cut down the commute and other expenses, it led to a surge in costs. Think of electricity, internet bills, investment in tech gadgets such as webcams or headsets, or new furniture to set up a home office. All these are important for increasing productivity but come at a price. Some companies did reimburse the expenses for their employees either partially or in whole. But those who didn’t get the costs paid for had their budget going for a toss.

Added Risk of Shadow IT

Shadow IT refers to the use of various devices, systems, applications, services, or software without approval from a company’s IT department. Cloud-based applications and services have led to an increase in this phenomenon, which also increases cybersecurity risks.

That said, not all companies could ensure that their employees had access to the right equipment and technology to carry out their assignments in a safe and secure environment. They lacked asset management tools to answer what all applications were permissible for the employees and how they could use them. The lack of IT supervision and different internet networks further aggravated the issues.

Is Hybrid Workplace Model the Way Forward?

A hybrid workplace model combines the best aspects of remote work and in-office work. Employees can be given the freedom to come to work or choose to telecommute. When a firm opts for a hybrid working model, it can have one or more office spaces, where its workforce can regularly visit. They can decide on the capacity. As opposed to a completely remote work model, this can solve some of the challenges described above. This flexible shift to work culture is going to stay for the next few years. It will be an exciting opportunity for both firms and employees, offering nothing less than a positive impact.

  • Quaranteam – Interactions with large groups of people became a rare event in 2020 to prevent the transmission of the virus. People started living in a social bubble or Quaranteam, wherein a particular group of people would interact only with people within a group and no one outside it. Think of flatmates, family members, or people who quarantined together. They were labelled as a Quaranteam.

With audio and video being the two mainstays of these meetings, the term ‘Unmute’ became popular when people were reminded to unmute their microphone to speak during a meeting.

Serviced Office in India

How Service Office Segments Can Evolve In 2021?

How Service Office Segments
Can Evolve in 2021 ?

Serviced Office in India

When I want to discuss the future of work, I do not wish to give you an elaborately distant scenario. The world we live in has rapidly changed in terms of norms and trends within a blink. With 2020 being a year of lifestyle revolutions, it will not be wrong to say that humans are always at the volatile age for adapting to such changes.

So the future of change is already here, and even without you know it, people have started thinking the way they thought their job was. However, business leaders are on the verge of facing the biggest challenge in managing this transition effectively.

Technological advancement in the past years has already foreseen the way people have perceptions about businesses in the coming future. And it will not be wrong to say that the way the world’s business will shape will be really difficult. Even though we cannot predict what exactly the future beholds, there are a few changes that are sure to happen, and being a forward-thinking organisation, you must be on your toes to evolve with the same.

  • Gig Economy

Accept it or not, but the gig economy is here to stay and excel. To determine it in layman’s term, a gig economy is a free-market that companies shoes for hiring freelancers and independent workers compared to the traditional form of full-time workers. It refers to a model where experts are hired and paid based on the projects they worked on.

Such an economy flourishes with the workers taking up part time jobs, thereby allowing them to change their jobs as frequently as possible to take up multiple assignments from different businesses at one go.

The days where people craved 9 to 5 cradle-to-grave jobs are gone. The gig economy allows people to save many hours every day and make the most of their lifestyle within the said time.

  • Artificial Intelligence

The biggest question raised since the advent of artificial intelligence is whether it proves to be a threat to the human labour force.

Suppose the rise of internet technology wasn’t worrying enough. In that case, the advancement of technology is short of destroying jobs in the coming future. Humans have already created and are now competing against something that can outperform us at any given time.

According to a 2013 study, around 47 per cent of Americans working in various Business Centres direct service of losing their jobs due to automation in the next decade or two.

So what is the way of finding balance?

How can artificial intelligence coexist with humans?

If treated properly, artificial intelligence will provide new job roles for a huge number of individuals. Humans have to accommodate their intelligent machines as co workers and learn to collaborate with this new system to balance man and machine at the workplace.

  • Transparency

Transparency is the currency of trust.

A huge emphasis has been put on fairness and transparency by the current generation at work. This is going to be the new trend within the next generation as well. With a transparent and well-defined job description, company culture, and salaries, the trend is here to stay and evolve further.

Employees will now be watchful for more accountable, flexible, and trustworthy relationships with their employers.

Thanks to the massive prominence of websites and social media channels such as Glassdoor and LinkedIn, the organisation’s happenings are no longer a secret. Serviced Office with a more transparent and open working culture are already attracting and retaining some of the best talents in the industry.

So it might not be wrong to predict that the system of hierarchy in the workplace will dissolve soon.

  • Creativity. Innovation. Imagination.

Automation is here to revolutionise the world of work. According to a McKinsey Global Institute report, a lot of interesting insights have already been established.

“What we predict is not a sudden overnight take over but a period of an ongoing succession which is perhaps an accelerated change that the organisations have started performing and mixing the jobs in the economy.”

The impact of automation is already being felt across organisations and industries. However, despite meaning job roles suffering, many others will yet remain untouched.

The report suggests that the technical aspect of every work will be affected sooner than expected.

However, job roles requiring a high degree of innovative thinking, creativity, and imagination will not be easily automated.

Machines can be great at optimising a job but still lack goal setting, planning, and decision making. Therefore, creativity, innovation and imagination will continue to top the charts in the world of business.

  • Environmentally and Socially Responsible Attitude

Businesses are no longer in the position of separating themselves from the happenings of the world around them. Hence the only option is to adopt a more responsible attitude towards the environment they are trying to sustain.

This is why corporate social responsibility is becoming an increasing trend in the socio-economic scenario, giving back to the wider society and community.

People love to work with companies with a more socially responsible attitude and have a natural tendency to advocate the company culture actively.

With global warming knocking at our doors, there cannot be a better time to collectively be more aware of the scenario and become responsible as business and corporate entities.

Hence it is the need of the hour for every business to look for sustainable ways while trying to grow and protect the planet and its limited resources.

Wrapping Up

Companies have already put their best feet forward in setting the stage right for the rest of the companies to follow suit. It is only a matter of time to understand whether we are ready for the change!
